Open MRI of Breast

A Breast MRI is a highly effective imaging exam used to evaluate abnormalities found in mammograms and to detect early-stage breast cancer. This procedure utilizes a magnetic resonance imaging unit with specialized breast coils to create precise and detailed images of the breast tissue. A contrast dye is required for diagnostic purposes, as it helps to highlight any abnormal areas within the breast. Importantly, a Breast MRI does not involve radiation. It is particularly sensitive in detecting small cancers that may not be visible through mammography or breast ultrasound and is effective at imaging dense breast tissue. Breast MRI is often recommended as a screening tool for women at high risk for breast cancer and for assessing breast implants.

It is important to note that a Breast MRI is not a substitute for mammography or ultrasound. Instead, it serves as an additional tool to help detect and stage breast cancer and other breast conditions. Your safety is our top priority. Better Detection in Dense Breast Tissue

Dense breast tissue, often found in younger women, can cause shadows due to overlapping tissue, which hides tumors from traditional 2D mammography. 3D mammography takes images of the breast from multiple angles, thereby offering a cutting-edge look through and around breast tissue.
