How to Prepare for 3D Digital Mammography:

Preparing for a 3D Digital Mammography exam is similar to preparing for a standard mammogram. Here are a few important steps to follow:

1. Schedule Wisely: Try to schedule your mammogram for a time when your breasts are least likely to be tender, which is typically the week following your menstrual period.
2. Avoid Lotions and Deodorants: On the day of your exam, refrain from applying lotions, deodorants, powders, or perfumes to your underarm or breast area. These substances can interfere with the imaging process.
3. Wear Comfortable Clothing: Wear a two-piece outfit to your appointment, as you will need to undress from the waist up for the exam.
4. Inform Your Technologist: If you have breast implants or any concerns about the procedure, please inform your technologist before the exam begins.

What to Expect During the Exam:

During the 3D Digital Mammography exam, you will be positioned in front of the mammography machine, and your breast will be gently compressed between two plates. The machine will then capture a series of images from various angles, a process that typically takes just a few seconds per view. 

After the Exam:

After your 3D Digital Mammography exam, you can resume your normal activities immediately. Our team of radiologists will analyze the images and share the results with your healthcare provider.
